6 Signs Your Nervous System is Dysregulated

Emotion dysregulation happens when we never learnt how to successfully manage our emotions in early life. ⁠

This often takes place when our caregivers themselves struggled to manage their own emotions and never modelled for us what healthy emotional processing looks like. ⁠

Most people grow up without knowing how to self-regulate.

Emotional dysregulation often looks like having a superficial relationship with our own emotions, which means that when emotional responses happen within the body, we don't know how to cope with them and turn to other means to express all that emotional energy - often unconsciously.⁠

This is not cause for judgement, simply an FYI that if you show any of these signs, emotional regulation is an easily developed skillset, we can learn as adults.⁠
